Report: U.S. teen signs with Dortmund
U.S. teenager Kristian Fletcher is signing with Borussia Dortmund, according to Fox Sports’ Keith Costigan. Fletcher has a passport according to reports. The forward previously played for Bethesda Academy and Landon High School.
Fletcher, 16 years old, was named The Washington Post’s All-Met Player of the Year for 2021 season. He scored 26 goals and had nine assists for his school team. The Washington Post reported that he went on trial with Manchester United’s U19 squad after the school season.
TopDrawerSoccer scout David Kerr saw Fletcher during the MLS Next playoffs in July. Kerr described him as “a nightmare to defend…He is extremely fast and has excellent control of the ball at his feet.”
