Marshall reaching the College Cup was the second straight year that the Sun Belt has been represented in the final four. However, outside of the Thundering Herd and West Virginia rising as high as the No. 1 ranking, the league was full of underperforming teams that did not qualify for the NCAA tournament.
Marshall and West Virginia will be among the elite again. The question is whether someone like UCF, Kentucky, or South Carolina can add to the depth of the league.
