As the conference tournament portion of the men’s Division I season draws closer, it’s been a strong enough sample size for first-year talent to lend credence to professional potential.
The new rules of the MLS Draft mean that only freshmen require a Generation adidas contract in order to be selected in the draft. Beyond that, USL and other opportunities are out there for top talent in the men’s college game.
Below are some of the freshmen who have shown pro potential in the current campaign and aren’t tied to an MLS Academy.
