Madrid Euro Soccer Academy (MESA) is the leading pro residency academy in Spain, built around 360-degree elite player development through total immersion in Spanish football.

Designed for elite players spanning 13 through 23 years old, MESA delivers the best of Madrid, the football capital of Spain, through long-term, tournament, and seasonal programs, with the girls program growing rapidly.

Staffed by UEFA Pro coaches and physical and mental performance specialists, MESA is led by Academy Director Julio César Gómez, who has placed hundreds of players into the top levels of Spanish football, including Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain).

“Our mission is to develop complete, modern soccer players who have the skill, intelligence, vision and character to play in any team, philosophy or country,” Gómez said. “For each of our players, our goal is to develop and enhance their talent, identity and potential as soccer players. At the end of each season, they need to be better - as players, as students and as people.”

Based in the suburbs of the Spanish capital, MESA offers everything for the elite soccer player to find success, both on and off the field. The fully-integrated program teaches players about what it takes to develop into successful players, while demonstrating how recovery and rest can impact a player’s performance.

The program has three teams: Under-20, Under-18 and Under-16. Made up of 60 long-term players enrolled in the 10-month program, with many players joining throughout the season as part of the shorter programs. Each player goes through a rigorous scouting, evaluation and interview process. Rosters include youth national team players from Armenia, Colombia, Philippines and Haiti, with future arrivals from the Ivory Coast anticipated. 

“Total Spanish football immersion is our foundation,” David Ferrer Arroyo, Operations and Partnerships Director, said. “World-class coaching, partnerships with top Spanish clubs. Weekly competition in the Spanish youth league. Our players live the rhythm and demands of elite Spanish football.”

Away from the game, an American International School on campus enables players to keep track with their education without leaving the residency grounds, offering challenges and growth opportunities off the pitch.
