Young soccer players need to receive top training if they want to experience the game at its highest level. No matter how much natural talent you may possess, getting good instruction available at a big time college soccer program can be the vital ingredient to help you realize your soccer potential. Additionally, for older players seeking recruitment to a college soccer team, the wide array of collegiate coaches on hand can open up the door to becoming an NCAA athlete.

The Maryland Soccer Camps are available to kids of all ages, ranging from 6-18. The day camp program holds sessions in three separate locations to reach various local communities and provides younger players with the fundamentals they need to succeed in soccer.  However, for players seeking the best direction and experience, the overnight camp is the way to go.

For players between the ages of 8-18, the Maryland Soccer Camp can provide a unique experience to learn what college soccer is like and to learn from the best coaches. The camp lasts for four days and is full of wonderful training. Skills training consist of focus on passing, dribbling, shooting, heading, and trapping; this gives players a learning experience in every major aspect of the sport.

Each day comprises of three separate training sessions. The first two sessions feature skills training and development, while the evening session allows players to practice their new talents in 11 vs. 11 scrimmage games. During these games, high school-aged players can showcase their talents to the wide array of coaches on hand, which range from D-1 to D-3 colleges and universities.

Catching a coach’s eye is a very important part of taking your soccer career to the next level, and the University of Maryland often recruits several young players for their soccer team from this camp. Attending this soccer camp could be your first step to securing a college soccer scholarship.

The Elite Camp is where most of the college coaches are present and is also the largest of the Maryland Soccer Camps, bringing on roughly 250 players. Mostly for high school-aged players, this is the prime opportunity for showcasing talents and acquiring new skills.

Attending the Maryland Soccer Camp is also a wonderful opportunity to check out one of the nation’s most prestigious public universities. Players use the team fields and even reside in the dormitories used for students during the academic year. Whether or not you will ever play soccer in college, getting a taste of what college life will be is an invaluable experience for any young man looking to further their education.  As stated by the University of Maryland’s Director of Soccer Operations, Will Swaim, “the Maryland Soccer Camps are the best way to work closely with the best college players and coaches to learn how to be successful at the next level. For those players who desire to succeed at the collegiate level, I highly recommend our summer camps.”
