2013 Jersey girls taking the country by storm
September 1, 2010
Welcome again to Players To Watch. This week we head to New Jersey, where the girls of the 2013 graduating class are already turning the heads of college scouts.

Here’s our take on twenty of the region’s best players.

Jersey United’s Tori Gonzalez is an athletic goalkeeper with great shot-stopping abilities and understanding of the game. She’s not tall, but plays an all-around game with a passion and physicality that are second to none.

Claire Malone of Domain FC is a center back who does it all. She’s a hard tackler, a patient and incisive passer, and a dynamic scoring threat on free kicks from any distance.

Heather Ford is a winger with good speed and attacking instincts. She is creative and confident with the ball and shows great skill in tight spaces. Domain FC is lucky to have her burning up and down the wing.

Joanna Scotti and Madison Holleren are Domain FC’s central midfield pair, and they complement each other to perfection. Joanna is a workhorse, a ball-winner who seems to escape every scrum with possession of the ball. Madison is a playmaker who orchestrates the attack and sets up her teammates to score. Put them together and they dominate the middle of the field.

Emma Coccia is a powerful striker for Domain FC with great speed and finishing abilities who simply overpowers defenders on her way to the goal.

Madison Flanagan of NJ Elite is a winger with great pace and a nose for the goal. She’s a fiery competitor who provides an emotional boost every time she steps onto the field.

Bridgette Skinner is a hard-working midfielder who plays both sides of the ball for NJ Elite. She has distribution skills and long range shooting ability that makes her a threat from anywhere on the field.

Natasha Ntone Kouo of PDA Celtic is a forward with dangerous one-on-one skills and great speed off the dribble. Opposing defenses must constantly keep her in sight.

Nicole Driess is a playmaking central midfielder who runs the show. The entire PDA Celtic offense goes through her – and with her passing skills, finishing and ability to see things before they happen, it’s easy to understand why.

Jessica Puchalski of PDA Celtic is a pure goal-scorer with great speed and one-on-one skills who thrives going forward. She has a knack for getting inside the opponent’s penalty area, and she’s lethal from close-range.

Hayley Snyder is a technically sound defender with great tactical awareness and leadership skills. Her one-on-one defensive abilities are first-rate and she is an asset on the PDA Celtic back line.

Brittain Dearden of PDA Crush is a winger with exceptional dribbling skills and unusual strength in the air. The ball sticks to both her feet and she is a stalwart for the ODP Regional I team.

Madison Tiernan is an electric attacker for PDA Crush who can run out of the midfield or striker slot. She’s a great finisher whose exploits were recently rewarded with an invite to the U15 Girls National Team camp.

Tori Prager is a tough-tackling holding midfielder for PDA Crush who reads the game well and can serve a precise ball with either foot.

Julie Spracklin is a versatile athlete who can shut down anybody when playing center back and outrun everyone when playing as a striker up front. Her technique is improving and she is a forceful leader who carries her PDA Crush team with her personality and approach to the game.

Danielle Sedillo of PDA Crush is a goalkeeper with strong organizational skills, good athletic ability, and total command of her box. She’s a security blanket who makes everyone around her better.

Jenna Seddon of Atlantic United is a wide attacking fullback with great technique and the ability to keep possession out of the back. She excels as a one-on-one defender and is a two-way force on the Storm back line.

Megan Larson of Match Fit Chelsea is a fantastic defender with good footwork and on-the-ball technique. She’s a relentless defender who frustrates attackers with pure energy and hustle.

Rachel Manci is Chelsea’s ball-winning holding midfielder who disrupts the buildup of the opposing team’s attack, while creating a solid foundation for her team going forward. With Manci and Larson, Chelsea’s defense is rock solid.
