2017 Boys Regional Rankings update

Each Friday following the Monday release of an IMG Academy 150 update, we highlight eleven of the regionally ranked players from around the country for that class.

Henry Mashburn, Goalkeeper, Weston FC – Mashburn was the starting goalkeeper for the Honduran U17 National Team in its first match of the FIFA U17 World Cup, and is the starting goalkeeper for Weston’s U18 Development Academy.

Caleb Etter, Defender, Shattuck St. Mary’s – Etter came to Shattuck via a circuitous route, from San Juan SC in California, but is a native of Reno, Nevada. He has started all but one match for the SSM U16s during the 2015-16 season.

Merwin Rodas, Defender, Central Cal Aztecs – Formerly, Rodas was a center back and captain for the Aztecs U14 Development Academy. Staying with his home club, now Rodas plays for CCA’s U17 US Youth Soccer team.

Taylor Suber, Defender, Charlotte Soccer Academy – Suber has played up with CSA’s U18s, but is a regular starter with the club’s U16 Development Academy.

Jackson Regan, Midfielder, Seattle United – Recommended as one of the top midfielders in the Pacific Northwest, Regan is a member of the Seattle United U17 USYS National League team.

Kevin Smolyn, Midfielder, Continental FC Delco – As a 1999 birth year, Smolyn has played two matches with Delco’s U18 Development Academy, in addition to 13 with the U16s.

Remington Marton, Midfielder/Defender, Colorado Rush – Marton can play a midfield role as well as right back for Rush’s U16s, and has started 11 matches for Erik Bushey’s Development Academy squad.

Daniel Strachan, Midfielder, Internationals SC – Strachan can play in either a defensive midfield or center back role, and has made an early verbal commitment to Akron.

Ballou Tabla, Midfielder, Montreal Impact – Tabla, a member of the Canada U17 and U20 Men’s National Teams, has scored six goals in eight matches with the Impact’s U18 Development Academy. He was given an honorable mention by TopDrawerSoccer at the Development Academy playoffs in 2015, and is slated to join USL side FC Montreal in 2016.

Vitalis Takawira, Forward, Chicago Fire – An impactful flank player for the Fire U16 Development Academy, he has three goals to his credit in just six starts.

Mason Toye, Forward/Midfielder, Soccer Domain FC – Toye is a TDS Unsigned Showcase alum from 2013 where he earned a Best XI nod, but was most recently named to the TDS Best XI list from the Disney Showcase. He was one of the top scorers from the 2015-16 USYS National League with five goals, and is verbally committed to Indiana.
