2018 Boys Regional Rankings update

Each Friday following the Monday release of an IMG Academy 150 update, we highlight eleven of the regionally ranked players from around the country for that class. All were recommended for their respective regional lists by our network of scouts and coaches.

M Antonio Pugliese, IMG Academy – Hoffman moved to IMG from Vermont’s Synergy FC for his sophomore year, and is already on the national radar. He has played in every match so far for Drew Hoffman’s U16 Development Academy.

M Will Crain, Georgia United – Crain earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Best XI list for his performance in defensive midfield at the U14 Development Academy Showcase last June. He is earning more and more minutes with Georgia United’s U16s as he steps up to the next age group.

F Vladimir Jokic, Indiana Fire – A creative attacking player that is already in his second year with the Fire’s U16 Academy, Jokic has even played up with the Fire’s U18s. He scored the opening goal in a 3-2 win over Crew SC Academy Wolves on October 17.

F Devin McCarthy, Fewster FC – McCarthy scored seven goals at the USYS Region 1 Championships last summer, then scored the game winner over Georgia United at the USYS National Championship semifinal.

M James Sands, New York SC – Sands and his brother William have both been involved with the U.S. U15 Boys National Team. Both traveled to England with the team in August.

M Ben Huynh, Seattle Sounders – A standout at right back during the U14 Development Academy Showcase in June, Huynh now plays on the Sounders U16s.

M Paolo Carillo-Weisenberger, LA Galaxy – Carillo-Weisenberger was one of more than a few members of the Chivas USA Development Academy program in need of a new team after the program folded. LA Galaxy scooped him up for their U16 Academy program.

GK Jacob Jackson, San Diego Surf – Jackson stopped Rio Rapids’ final penalty kick in the USYS Region IV semifinal match to propel his team to the Region I Championship last summer. This season, he has started four matches in goal for Surf’s U16 Development Academy.

D Alexander Charles, Capital Area Railhawks–CASL – As a member of Triangle United SA, Charles was selected for the ODP Region III pool. He now plays for the Railhawks U16 Academy and was part of a group from the club that traveled to England and Scotland in the spring of 2015.

M Alessandro Castro, Bryson Park/KSA – Castro scored the first goal to help his 2000 Region III ODP team beat Region IV at the ODP Interregional in November, earning a spot on the USYS All Star Team for the event.

D, Connor Brookshire, Triangle FCA Alliance – Brookshire was a member of the North Carolina Alliance U14 Development Academy team last season, also playing up on the ’98 Triangle FC Alliance squad.

D Julian Kraidelman, New York Red Bulls – Kraidleman plays for the Red Bulls U16 Development Academy and was invited to the U.S U15 Boys National Team camp in March of 2015.
