One of the underlying elements to the just-released 2024 Girls IMG Academy Top 150 player rankings is to see which players can end up playing for a U.S. youth national team.
The bulk of the players in the rankings are born in 2005 and 2006, with the 2022 U.S. Under-17 World Cup cycle the anchor point. Already, previous U.S. U15 GNT camps have shown a bit of which players, although mostly born in 2005, could end up competing in the squad.
But what 2006s might have a chance to play up for the U.S. in 2022? There are several players from the initial rankings that could end up playing their way into a call-up. Obviously, the list is longer than this, but here are a few names to start with.
