Arizona Arsenal: A Soccer Club on the Rise

For more than thirty years, Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club has been offering youth male and female players of all levels in the region opportunities and a player pathway to the college level.
This coming year they have continued to raise the bar with the addition of Adam Burke, as the ECNL Boys Director and USL League Two Head Coach, and Lindsey Johnson, the ECNL Girls Director and WPSL Assistant Coach. Both individuals are no stranger to the local soccer scene and have a reputation for running high level programs with teams and players that meet those standards.
“We were in a unique situation this year that we knew we would be needing and have the opportunity to bring in two individuals into our organization," Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club Executive Director David Belfort told TopDrawerSoccer. "After national searches it was evident that Adam Burke and Lindsey Johnson were clear candidates to fill those positions. Their track record, passion for what they do, and the level that they do it at will have a positive impact on our entire organization.”
Burke comes to Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club with previous experience as a head coach at the St. Louis City's MLS Academy, an Executive Director at Tulsa Soccer Club, the Phoenix Rising ECNL Boys Director and a former University of West Florida Men’s and Women’s Assistant Coach. Burke was also a former Pro A-League Goalkeeper for Nashville Rythm and Cincinnati Riverhawks.
“I’m extremely excited to be part of the AZ Arsenal SC family. With the landscape constantly evolving we will be trying to strive to raise the standards with all our youth platforms. We want every student athlete to be pushed to be the best they can be while continuing to offer a competitive, learning and most importantly an enjoyable experience.“
Johnson comes to Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club after previously serving for the past 11 years at Arizona Soccer Club, as the Director of Coaching and Technical Director and a US Youth National Team staff coach. She is a former professional soccer player at Sky Blue FC and is an alumni of the Santa Clara women's soccer program.
“I am extremely excited to be a part of Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club and the ECNL platform. With our new programming, we’re excited to push the competitive level of our players and staff. Added Belfort, “We are never settling in our organization. We are a destination club in Arizona that is recognized on a regional and national level and we want to keep improving all aspects of what we do.”
Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club will be offering tryouts in the coming weeks for 2017/U8-2005/05 Boys and Girls players of all levels. More information and registration can be found by following this link.
