GK Heather Martin, FC Dallas U16: There wasn’t a U16 defense better than FCD’s in Fort Worth, and Martin deserves praise for her role. The Midlothian High School keeper helped FCD shut out Vardar to kick off the event, and then the team got a 1-0 win over OP Ohio Premier before sliding past FC Bucks 2-0 to complete a trio of shutouts. Her back line deserves some credit as well, but Martin was the beating heart of the operation.
