class="p1">It was a banner weekend for non-MLS academies. Local rivals FC Golden State and De Anza Force picked up wins in the U19 age group in games over their local MLS academy rivals. Michigan Wolves went on the road and also picked up a win against an MLS foe. After the success of the non-MLS academies in 2019 during the U17 Development Academy playoffs, this weekend’s results are starting to look like a precursor to a non-MLS team grabbing the championship in the U19 age group.
