TopDrawerSoccer begins TeamRank updates for February on Friday. The first ranking is for the Boys U18, U17, and U16 age groups. 

For consistency sake, the Development Academy U18/19 teams are ranked in the U18 age group. The U16/17 teams are ranked in the U16 age group. Scroll to the bottom for information about the TeamRank process.

FC Dallas Come Calling

FC Dallas jumps up to No. 3 in the TopDrawerSoccer Boys TeamRank for the U18 age group in the February update. Sockers FC and Seattle Sounders remain the top teams in this age group. NYCFC and Barca Academy round out the top five.

Elite in Red

GPS Elite Red 02 jumps up to No. 5 in the TopDrawerSoccer Boys TeamRank Top 25 for February following some positive results in recent tournaments. Boca OC, Beach FC, Heat FC, and Baltimore Celtic SC round out the rest of the top five.

Big Force 

De Anza Force SC jumps up the rankings in the Boys TeamRank Top 25 for the February update in the U16 age group. De Anza Force checks in at No. 4 in this month’s update. FC Dallas, Shattuck St. Mary’s Academy, and Philadelphia Union keep hold of the top three spots.

TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
