Elite youth soccer giants Dallas Texans are kicking off a contractual agreement with England professional megaclub Manchester United by hosting a visit from two of the club’s youth coaches this week at the Texans’ training facility.
Old Trafford, Manchester, EnglandBrian McClair, a famous former player and now Man United’s Youth Academy Director, and John Cooke, Youth Academy staff coach, will be in Dallas June 17-24. They will give seminars for the Texans’ coaches and for all Texans players and their parents during their visit. They will also train selected boys players each morning. Their parents and the coaches from all 13 Texans divisions from around Texas and Florida are invited to observe. The arrangement between the two entities was put together in part by their mutual sponsor, Nike.
This fall, selected boys and coaches from the Texans will be invited to travel to Manchester for training and learning at Man U’s facilities. Each year, additional boys and coaches will have the opportunity to train with the Man U coaches, both in Dallas and in Manchester.
Hassan Nazari, founder and Director of Coaching of the Dallas Texans, lauded the arrangement.
“This is an exciting new step for the Dallas Texans,” he said. “Exposure to the training methods and philosophy of the best known and perhaps best managed professional soccer club in the world will bring unparalleled development opportunities for all of our coaches and players in all divisions.”
