The ECNL Boys National Event in Virginia takes place this weekend near Richmond.

It's another window for the Under-17 players seeking spots in the 2027 recruiting class.

Here are some of the top players to watch who are expected to compete.

Henry Payne, NTH Nasa – Payne and his Nasa squad hit the road for their first competitive action since the national event in Florida. The striker earned Player of the Year in his high school team for the second season in a row, banging in goals in every way possible. Able to provide an option in behind, he can finish with both feet and leads the line effectively.

Ryan McLean, Penn Fusion – The PA club is stacked at this age group, backstopped by McLean between the posts. While not the most physically dominant GK, he is rangy, athletic and can cover his goal. Fusion faces a tough trio of games in VDA, STA and World Class.

Phoenix Vesneski, FSA FC – A quality regular season record is put to the test from the Connecticut side. Vesneski is an interesting defensive prospect, calm with the ball and tough defensively in his actions. His side has a 14-3-2 record overall.

Arcen Tambi, World Class FC – The central midfielder brings real quality and poise to the World Class side. He connects play well and offers a threat from range with his shot. Able to either speed the game up or slow it down, this weekend he will look to impress college scouts for the class of 2027.

Brady Stickler, Cleveland Force SC – Able to play just about anywhere in the front six, Stickler is able to create chances or finish them himself. He is a trap year graduate who is likely to be on the radar for the class of 2028.

Cristobal Cruz, DKSC – A goalkeeper for DKSC’s 09 side, the Texas outfit makes the journey to Richmond for its final three games of the year. Cruz is a good shot-stopper, albeit a bit undersized for the position.

Gabriel Gautier, FL Premier FC – The central midfielder is a 6/8, who can sit in front of a back line and connect or play up higher in a box-to-box real to cause problems for the opposing defense.

Connor Heliger, Pittsburgh Riverhounds – Heliger will anchor the Riverhounds’ spine, either in a center back or defensive midfield role. He has good size for the spot and will look to lead his side to a strong finish to the season.
