ECNL New Jersey PDP: Top 4 performances
Every few months, the ECNL invites some of the top players to train and scrimmage at weekend Player Development Program events, in the aim of leaving no stone unturned when it comes to player identification.
The event for the Northeast saw some of the top players from the region descend upon Zarephath, New Jersey to demonstrate their skills and play with some of their top peers.
It’s a setting that isn’t easy to stand out in, as players are put on random teams, so the level of familiarity is mixed at best. Regardless of that, four players managed to stand out in a talented group in New Jersey:
F Kayla Smith, FC Delco
The type of player every teammate and coach would want on his or her team, Smith is a hardworking player who is continually active the entire game. Her energetic attitude helped her get into the right positions throughout the game to support her teammates. She was always hustling back behind the ball to either help her team or win back the ball she may have lost. Makes up for some of her shortcomings with her hard work, she’s taking her talents to Temple(w) in 2014.
