SAN DIEGO, California - The ECNL Champions League semifinals wrapped on Friday with the U15, U16, and U17 teams in action.
So Cal Blues and Solar Chelsea SC advanced from the semifinals in the U15 age group. So Cal Blues rolled to a 6-0 win over Slammers in the first games of the day. Solar Chelsea SC pounced on Michigan Hawks early and cruised into the final with a 4-2 win.
FC Dallas and FC Stars of Massachusetts clinched their spots in the final of the U16 age group. FC Dallas battled to a penalty kick victory over Tophat in a scoreless semifinal battle. FC Stars snagged a 2-1 win over Concorde Fire in the other semifinal.
Michigan Hawks and Crossfire Premier were the final two teams to snag spots in the championship battles tomorrow. Hawks played to a draw against a talented Colorado Storm side, but Hawks ended up in the championship game thanks to a win from a penalty kick shootout. Crossfire Premier used two goals from Sophie Hirst to snag a 2-0 win over Slammers in the other game.
