Final Top 100 released for 2010 Boys
January 25, 2010
The TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 list for the Boys’ 2010 graduating class has undergone its final full update prior to National Signing Day for this year’s high school seniors.

While additional tweaks could be made during the rest of the spring season, the recruiting window for this group of players is virtually over, and our attention will expand to the 2012 class, to go with our current lists for 2011.

Updates for 2010 Girls will come this Thursday, with 2011 Top 100 lists updated next week.

The updates reflect continued communication by our staff with coaches, scouts and other informed observers throughout the country. Our effort is to give the most comprehensive and credible player evaluation service for American club soccer players there is. Our only vested interest in the fortunes of these young men and women is our desire to see the game itself, as well as the players who play it, succeed.

This final 2010 Boys' list also reflects the decision by many talented young men to forsake college soccer and go directly to the professional ranks. Their departure from the list, intended to reflect top college prospects, opens up the path for many others to rise in the list. Long-time 2010 #1 Jack McInerney, for instance, was a recent 1st-round draft choice of Philadelphia in the Major League Soccer.

The list also features some new players as we continue to learn about top players in every area of the country, and also as we track the rise and decline of players for various reasons. While there’s no question there are good players not on this list, it is a considerable honor to be placed on it.

As always, reasonable suggestions for players we should know about can be submitted to rankings@topdrawersoccer.com for our review. These are welcome. Arguing and protesting the rankings from a subjective viewpoint (especially by players or their family members), especially communications that tear down other young men or women, not so much.
