Today’s Signing Day analysis features four NCAA Tournament participants from a season ago.

Connecticut
Signed:
Mika Bussey (Michigan Hawks), Gabrielle Charno (Syosset Sting), Gabriella Cuevas (World Class FC), Kaichie Ho (SoccerPlus Charge), Riley Houle (Oakwood SC), Chelsea Hunter (Oakwood Premier), Andrea Plucenik (Northeast United Premier), Gianna Roma (Scorpions SC), Lindsey Watkins (CT Quickstrike FC)
Skinny: In Houle, Connecticut snagged one of the best prospects the state has to offer. Houle is No. 55 on our Top 100 List because of her knack for producing great scoring opportunities. Small but creative, Houle could be a dominant force in the midfield for the Huskies. Attackers joining Houle include Bussey, Ho, Hubbard and Hunter.

On the defensive side, Cuevas arrives as a player who is also capable of playing in the midfield. She’s No. 8 in our New Jersey Region, and each player from the class will arrive with familiar East Coast roots. Defenders Roma and Charno will both bring strength and toughness that will help them compete at the college level.

Wisconsin
(w)
Signed: Nikki Greenhalgh (Michigan Jaguars), Krissy Many (Chicago Fire Juniors), Lauren Reid (Minnesota Thunder Academy), Julia Roddar (Sweden), Grace Shea (Concorde Fire Elite), Diamond Simpson (Dixie Dragons), Olivia Tehan (FC Milwaukee Nationals), Carly Vogel (FC Milwaukee Nationals), Cara Walls (FC Milwaukee Nationals)
Skinny: This largely Midwest crop of talent includes midfielder Walls, our No. 15 ranked player in the Region. Walls is a fast attacking striker who is tough to handle in 1v1 situations. Walls is one of three players arriving from the FC Milwaukee. Striker Tehan and defender/midfielder Vogel are the other two.

Joining them will be defensive presence Reid, our No. 18 ranked player in the Midwest. Reid is a left-footed outside back who marks well and can also attack. Wisconsin imports will include Roddar, of Falun Sweden, along with Ontario’s Simpson.

South Florida(w)
Signed: Daniela Andrade (Guatemala), Alexa Hosey (Orlando Sharks Elite), Sarah Miller, Carl Patterson (Edmonton, Alberta)
Skinny: The Bulls are bringing in freshman from everywhere this season. Andrade is a member of the Guatemalan National Team, and a midfielder who is dangerous and creative. The program will also welcome a couple of college transfers, not to mention midfielder Patterson, of Edmonton. Hosey is a striker and former invitee into the U.S. Youth National Camp program. She has good size and the experience to produce for the Bulls. Then there’s Miller, who was not only a goal-scoring machine in her youth career, but is a great athlete. In fact, she’s well known for her mammoth flip throw-ins – something she plans to utilize for South Florida.

Arizona State(w)
Signed: Jessica DeLeon (SC Del Sol), Ali Doller (Arizona Sting), Chandler Morris (Arsenal FC), Sarah Van Horn (Classics Elite Soccer Academy)
Skinny: DeLeon is a midfielder who enjoyed a strong club career. She brings international experience and was the guiding force behind leading her team to several postseason appearances. Doller has a knack for netting goals and a natural skill for being in scoring positions. She joins Van Horn, who is an athletic attacking player from Texas.

Goalkeeper Morris will try to push the Sun Devils’ current keepers for playing time. Arizona State enjoyed a second straight run to the NCAA Tournament last season – a notable achievement considering the competition level in the Pac-10.
