This week marks the start of the Girls Academy Playoffs.
The Under-14s begin on June 18, finishing the first club season where players were scouted by U.S. Soccer. With the first opportunity to be called into U.S. Youth National Team ID Centers, the first 2012 national team camp took place earlier this year.
Thirty-six teams will compete for the Round of 16 spots; winners of those matches will advance to the national finals, scheduled to be held July 7-9 in Richmond, Va.
Here are some of the players to watch at the event.
