The TopDrawerSoccer Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week, presented by THINX, for Jan. 18-25 is LA Galaxy San Diego U16/17’s Emily Colton. The North Carolina(w) commit scored three goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in her team’s 4-3 win over So Cal Blues on Saturday in the Girls Development Academy.

It was a crucial win for LA Galaxy San Diego, which is only a few points back from a playoff spot after the victory. Blues had won their previous three games prior to Saturday’s loss. The two teams are battling for playoff spots in the ultra-competitive Southwest Division.

Colton is the leading scorer for her team this season with 11 goals in 13 games, as she looks to top last year’s effort of 31 goals in 27 games for the U15 team. The 2021 graduate is one of the top recruits in the country for her class.

She is the first winner of the TopDrawerSoccer Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week, presented by THINX. San Jose Earthquakes U14’s Alana Owens and Concorde Fire ECNL U16’s Ella Jane Ciardullo were also considered for the honor.
