Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week
Before heading off to college this fall, Cianna Elmazaj is leaving her mark on the California Thorns.
In just 65 minutes of action, Elmazaj scored a hat trick for the Thorns' U18/19 side. After opening the scoring six minutes into the game, she scored a quickfire double right after the break to complete her triumvirate of tallies. Her hat trick led the Thorns to a 4-1 win against Lamorinda United, and earns Elmazaj the latest Club Soccer Player of the Week award.
Elmazaj, who is verbally committed to Santa Clara for this fall, has 11 goals in 15 games during the current Development Academy season after her three-goal haul.
Also receiving consideration were Natalie Means (Lamorinda U16/17), who scored three goals in a 4-3 win over the Thorns; Kai Hayes (United Soccer Alliance), who scored two goals on Saturday for the U16/17 team in win, and a goal on Sunday for U18/19 team; Katherine Rader (Weston FC U16/17), who scored three goals in 4-2 win over West Florida Flames.
