Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week
As the Girls Development Academy regular season continues to wind to a close, one team’s defense continues to impress.
United Soccer Alliance Under-18/19s notched another shutout over the weekend, this time beating NC Courage by a 3-0 score over the holiday weekend. Goalkeeper Alia Skinner’s role in the shutout, earns her the latest Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week award, presented by THINX.
Skinner started and played 86 minutes in the win, anchoring her club side’s victory, which marked her 13th shutout in 18 games. During her 18 games played in the current DA season, Skinner’s conceded just five goals, as the combination of her team’s back line and her shot-stopping ability has led to that success. Part of the 2020 graduating class, the Florida native has verbally committed to Virginia Tech.
