Here is the Players To Watch Team of the Month in July for the Midwest region (Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin).

Remember, this feature is to honor top performers in their region over the past month or so and across the span of age groups. There will be a boys' list and a girls' list, and a new region will be covered every weekday, Tuesday through Friday of each month. You can submit nominations at teamofthemonth@topdrawersoccer.com .

Following is the Boys List, in no particular order.

Vishal Patel, Chicago Fire Juniors, U15 Forward:
Scored 10 minutes into the game to give his team the lead in the Region 2 Championship game vs. Sockers FC. The team won the game 2-0 and advance to the National Championships at the end of the month.

Andrija Novakovich, United FC (WI), U14, Forward: Scored 6 goals at the Region II Championships.

Adrian Hernandez-Herrara, Sockers FC, U14, Forward: Scored 4 goals at the Region II Championships.

Mukwelle Akale, Minnesota Thunder Academy, U14, Forward: U14 Boys National Teamer scored 3 goals at Region II Championships.

Jack Menard, Bavarians, U15, Forward:
Scored 4 goals for the Wisconsin team at the Region II Championships.

Matthew Gweh, Minnesota Thunder, U16, Forward: scored the winning goal in the 88th minute of the U16 Men’s Region 2 Championship game to give his team the win.

Jeffrey Farina, FC United (IL), U15, Forward: Scored 4 times at the Region II Championships.

Alexis Monteon, Raiders FC, U16, Forward: Scored 3 times at the Region II Championships.

Matthew Gweh and Getenet Worku, U16, Forward: Scored 5 and 4 goals respectively at the Region II Championships.

Sikiru Kareem, Chicago Fire Juniors, U17, Forward: Scored 4 goals at Region II Championships.


Following is the Girls List, in no particular order.

Zoe Redei, Eclipse Select, U13, Forward: Scored an astonishing 10 goals as her team won the Region II Championship.

Lizzy Christ, Minnesota Thunder Academy 95 ECNL, Goalkeeper:
had the game winning save with seconds to go in the Minnesota State Championship game. The save sealed her team their 2nd straight state cup title.

Rebecca Koch, Eclipse Select, U13, Midfielder: Scored the winning goal in the final seconds of overtime to lift her team to a Region II Championship.

Simone Kolander, Minnesota Thunder Academy, U16, Forward: Scored 4 goals at the Region II Championships.

Maya Neal, Eclipse Select, U14, Forward: Scored the opening goal of her team’s 2-0 win in the Region II Championship match. Scored 6 goals for the event.

Sophie Babo, Minnesota Thunder Academy, Forward:
Scored 3 goals at the Region II Championships.

Kayla McCoy: Eclipse Select, U14 Forward: Scored the closing goal of her team’s 2-0 win in the Region II Championship match. Scored 5 goals for the event.

Lauren Miller, Minnesota Thunder Academy 96 ECNL, Forward: scored the game winning goal to give her team their first State Championship since U12.

Angela Waddle, Eclipse Select, U15, Forward: Scored the winning goal in the final match of the Region II Championship, helping her team to the title with 3 goals for the event..

Courtney Raetzman, Sockers FC, U17, Forward: Scored in overtime as her team won the Region II Championship.

Michelle Mottonen, Eclipse Select, U16, Forward: Scored 4 goals at the Region II Championships.

Katelyn Hammarlund, Sockers FC, U17, Forward:
Scored in overtime as her team won the Region II Championship.

Samantha Haertle and Brianne LaBarbara, FC Milwaukee, U17, Forwards:
Each scored 3 goals at the Region II Championships.
