How does the coronavirus impact recruiting
The dominoes are still falling from the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) as sports around the world come to a stark halt for the next couple of months (at least). One of the lingering questions that came up from readers and subscribers of the site over the last week is how this break in showcases and camps will alter the recruiting landscape for the future. There are a number of upcoming events (ECNL Phoenix, Development Academy Spring Cup, National League, etc.) that college coaches typically would use to solidify incoming classes with late additions plus start to build cornerstone pieces to future classes.
Those events have been canceled. TopDrawerSoccer talked to a handful of college coaches (off the record) across the country about the impact of the coronavirus on recruiting and what it means for the future of their programs.
