LA Galaxy signs top attacking prospect
The LA Galaxy have signed a second Homegrown player this week, announcing the addition of Jonathan Gomez to the academy.
Originally part of the LA Galaxy Academy since the 2016-17 season, Perez has made 102 appearances for the team at the U13, U14, U15, U17 and U19 age groups. He scored 42 goals during that stretch.

“Jonathan has been a bright prospect in our Academy and we think he is ready to begin his career as a professional,” LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese said in a statement. “We believe he will continue progress in his career with the Galaxy. We look forward to Jonathan learning and growing in our professional environment.”
Perez is currently the No. 11 ranked player in the 2021 Boys IMG Academy Top 150. He's played at the international level for both the United States and Mexico, although not in an official competition.
