Don’t be fooled by Megan Oyster’s angelic look – she’s a fireball in soccer clothing.
Oyster has already climbed her way to the top of our Midwest 2011 Top 20 ranking yet she’s far from satisfied.
Megan Oyster“One thing you should know about me as a player is that I’m competitive,” Oyster said. “I’ll never give up on a play that I’m involved in because I don’t ever want the ball or a player to beat me.”
Neither happens often. The star defender for the Windy City Pride is a gamer who is taking her competitive spirit to UCLA(w) next season. The Bruins should consider themselves lucky.
Oyster has good timing and closing speed out of the back; she’s good at challenging firmly and is strong in the air.
This season her focus is to lead her Windy City squad past the sectional finals, where the team has stumbled the last few years. Don’t bet against her.
You’ll be sorry.
Other stars from our Midwest Top 20 include: Courtney Raetzman (2012), Kylie Schwarz (2013) and Emma McCarthy (2014).
On the boys’ side we’ve got Victor Pineda (2011), Andrew Chang (2012), Raul Diaz Arce (2013), Kyle Thomson (2014), Shannon Seymour (2015) and Stoil Ganev (2016).
