NORCO, California - The inaugural MLS Next Fest kicked off on Friday from the Silverlakes Complex in Southern California. The 05, 06, and 07 age groups were in action on the opening day from the event.
The MLS academy teams in the 05 and 07 age group are competing in the Generation Adidas qualifying event. While the non-MLS academy teams are in a showcase environment with plenty of scouts in attendance.
The sidelines were packed on Friday. The MLS Academy teams saw dozens of agents and internationals scouts elbow to elbow on the sidelines. The non-MLS academy teams enjoyed a spattering of MLS club scouts on the sideline looking for new prospects for their youth teams.
