Crew Academy
|
The first ever National Academy Championship took place over the weekend. A tournament of teams that all compete in MLS NEXT, the event wrapped on Monday with a trio of finals at the U16, U17 and U19 age groups. IMG Academy hosted the event from Feb. 24-27.
Tampa Bay United captured the U19 age group, defeating Miami Rush Kendall by a 2-0 score. Two teams from the Chicagoland area triumphed the U16 and U17 age group respectively. FC United captured the former, defeating Indiana Fire Academy. Sockers FC captured the U17 crown, defeating Cedar Stars Academy.
Along with the tournament, an All-Star game for those age groups took place on Sunday. Below are the lineups and rosters from the event.
