New York Red Bulls Sign Davi Alexandre

In the same week that Aidan Stokes turned pro with the New York Red Bulls, another academy propects has turned pro.

Defender Davi Alexandre signed a contract with the Red Bulls II in MLS NEXT Pro, and he'll be a part of the MLS roster starting in 2024.

“Davi’s development and comfortability as a defender has made him one of the top players in our Academy and we are excited to take this next step with him,” RBNY Sporting Director Denis Hamlett said in a press release. “He has great potential, and we know that he will take advantage of this opportunity.”

No. 7 in the 2025 Boys IMG Academy Player Rankings, Alexandre is an experienced U.S. youth national team player that has anchored the Red Bulls U17 back line over the past season. The 16-year-old made his professional debut with New York Red Bulls II on August 3, 2022 and was called up to the U.S. U16 BNT earlier this year in January.

“Having Davi feature in the team last season was really important for us, and we are glad to have him signed,” Red Bulls II Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya said in a statement. “His presence on the back line at such a young age is admirable and we will promote his development as best as we can.”
