Rating the YNT: Top 5 boys forwards
After three installments, we’ve come to the end of the road on our tour through the best and the brightest of the boys USYNT system.
We’ve perused the goalkeepers, taken stock of the defensive talent pool and walked through the best midfielders the U.S. has to offer at the youth level. With that behind us, we wrap up this boys journey with a glimpse at the top five striker prospects of YNT age who’ve yet to earn a national team camp.
As I’ve stated before, the only criteria is that each player has to be of current U.S. YNT age, so at least eligible to play for the U23 MNT right now. The ranking is based as much on their prospects as a professional player as anything else. Each of these ratings takes into account their projected trajectory as a pro player far more than where they are now.
The American striker pool is morphing into a new thing, and my top five prospects takes that into account. Here’s a look at the massively enterprising top of the pyramid for the American future.
