Recruiting Views: USYNT picks WCC school
Each week, TDS digs into the latest recruiting news and looks at the implications for this fall and beyond.
Below is this week’s Recruiting Views, as Division I classes are confirmed and big programs add future commitments. It was a busy week, with two Pac-12 women’s powers putting out press releases and a U.S. U17 MNT World Cup veteran taking the college route.
Jacobo Reyes heads to Portland
In an era where most of the top U.S. youth talents are bypassing college soccer, a veteran of the 2017 U.S. Under-17 World Cup squad is off to school.
Jacobo Reyes announced that he is joining the Portland men’s soccer team for this fall, becoming just the fourth player from that squad to go the college route. Tyler Shaver (Stanford), Alex Budnik (Dartmouth) and Justin Garces (UCLA) are the other three. Reyes is the only field player to get playing time that's heading to college soccer.
