Signing Day: Top storylines to monitor
Signing Day. Or, for a handful of the best college programs in the nation, otherwise known as one of the most simultaneously exciting and nerve-wracking days of the year.
And it’s almost here. Wednesday is decision day.
It’s exciting, of course, because programs can begin officially plotting a course of action for the future with the foundations of recruiting classes in place. In college soccer - and especially the men’s game - nothing is set in stone tablets until players officially step on campus either for the spring semester or in time for preseason camp. But at the very least it allows some bedrock upon which to begin building outward and upward.
As for the nervy part? Well, just ask a program sweating out a highly regarded Homegrown prospect wavering on an MLS deal. Upon these decisions are national titles won. And perhaps lost.
On the eve of one of the most exciting days of the year - even if the soccer side is a bit more subdued compared to its football cousin - we’re taking a look at a handful of the most compelling story lines to monitor on Wednesday. Even if we don’t get a ton of shockers, these things will be sure to hold your interest.
