Tacoma Defiance signs Academy midfielder
Tacoma Defiance signed U.S. U15 Boys National Team and Sounder Academy midfielder Reed Baker-Whiting to a USL contract on Thursday. Reed Baker-Whiting has appeared in two games since the restart for the Defiance - both as a substitute.
Baker-Whiting joins Emmanuel Ochoa (San Jose Earthquakes) and Francis Jacobs (Orange County SC) as players born in 2005 who have already signed professional contracts.
The midfielder looks to follow in the footsteps of other Sounders academy products like Daniel Leyva, Joshua Atencio, and Ethan Dobbelaere.
Tacoma Defiance’s next game is scheduled for Monday, August 3 against Portland Timbers 2.
