Spring is here and so is our latest update to TeamRank, the comprehensive ranking system for elite club soccer teams nationwide. Today we release the latest standings for U13, U14 and U15 Girls. Next Thursday we will update the older age groups on the Boys side. We will update our National Top 50 of each age group at least once per month.

De Anza Force Top U13s

U13 is a tough age group to rank because there is less transcontinental competition than with our other age groups, but Northern California side De Anza Force Blue certainly belongs in the conversation, with its Surf Cup title figuring prominently in the deliberations.

Head 3,000 miles east to  New jersey and famed club PDA to find our #2-ranked side, PDA O’Reilly. They’ve won a couple of tourneys this season along with a semifinal run in the Jefferson Cup.  Back in Arizona, Scottsdale Soccer Blackhawks have accumulated a number of tourney wins to go with their title in the fall statewide league.

Back to Jersey for the NJ Crush at #4, winners at WAGS and the Jefferson Cup. Just behind that group is a very-talented West Coast FC side that won a flight of the Southern Cal Development League.

PDA Leading U14

That same New Jersey club PDA fields our #1 team in the U14 age group. PDA Arsenal has won a trifecta of top events, including the Eclipse Select Challenge Cup in the Chicago area, the NEWSS Showcase on Long Island and the Jefferson Cup in Richmond.

In-state rivals NJ Crush are #2 following wins at WAGS, JAGS and the New Jersey State Cup. Northern California side Mustang SC won their division in the ECNL along with their own club tournament, good for a #3 ranking.

Southern California side Arsenal FC has won the Surf Cup, and also performed well across a set of league and tournament competitions. Following them at #5 is Far West Regional League and Southern Cal Development League winner Beach FC.

So Cal clubs dominate U15

Teams from Southern California have a stranglehold on the top of the U15 age group. Legends FC is #1 with win in the Far West Regional League, the Southern Cal Development League, Surf Cup an d a high-table finish in the U.S. Youth Soccer National League.

Randy Dodge’s So Cal Blues side is listed at 2^nd this month, with a good campaign underway in the ECNL top flight and a semifinal run in the Surf Cup highlighting the season. San Diego Surf is at #3, also with help from good play in the ECNL and its own Surf Cup.

TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
