Teams show competitive spirit despite mud
Hosting four age groups, the Showcase was played over three days at the Carmel Clay Community Soccer Complex. Each team played only one game per day in order to maximize their talents in front of the 146 college coaches in attendance and the coaches in attendance were treated to some very good games.
Although the players did not seem to mind the weather, the break in the rain on Saturday was a temporary relief for the fans. For the girls, the strong competition is motivation enough to play, "it is definitely a different ball game, but there are always going to be factors that you have no control over, so you just have to go out and do your best with the conditions you have, but most importantly just play the game and have some fun", states Olivia Jester, U16 Ohio Elite, who summed up the feeling of many of the girls this weekend.
