Ten Top Two-Sport Boys in the Country
Many of the best soccer players in the country dabble in other sports. But only a select few are truly elite at both, whether soccer is their primary venture or not. Here is a ranking of the ten best two-sport youth soccer players in the country.
1. Jacob Lombard, Florida (Soccer/Baseball) – Quantifying Lombard’s impact as a two-sport star is near impossible. In baseball, the senior is regarded by many as the nation’s best prospect and a likely top ten pick in the upcoming MLB draft. On the pitch, he starred at Gulliver Prep, earning All-State honors as a defender, captaining the team, and helping secure state championships in 2023 and 2024.
2. Cole Chambers, Missouri (Soccer/Baseball) - Chambers is arguably the best soccer player on the list. Until high school, the junior was a prized goalkeeper in the St. Louis City MLS Next Academy. He then quit the academy to do high school soccer and focus on baseball, where he was also a nationally regarded prospect. Fast forward to 2026, and Chambers is a back-to-back state champion and Missouri Class 4 Goalkeeper of the Year for SLUH, while also landing a commitment to power 4 Oklahoma to continue his baseball career.
3. Liam Morrison, Kansas (Soccer/Track) - Number three on the list is Morrison, a two-time USYS national champion in soccer and state title holder on the track. The Toca FC center back was dominant enough to earn USYS Best XI honors in 2024. Then, at the Kansas high school track championships last summer, he won two gold medals: first in the 300-meter hurdles, then in the 4x400 race, where he helped set a record. Whether it is soccer or track, the Washburn Rural phenom is a bona fide Division I athlete.
4. Ty Collins, Florida (Soccer/Football) - Arguably the best soccer/football playing combo in the country, Collins leverages his elite speed and acceleration to dominate both sports. The All-State soccer selection was on the USYS Nationals Best XI last summer while moonlighting as a utility football star who combined for 31 touchdowns between his junior and senior seasons. The latest soccer season saw the senior score 37 goals and assist 14 in just 16 appearances, leading Lely High School to a Florida 4A regional final.
5. Nick Pitman, Oklahoma (Soccer/Football) - Another to take his football exploits beyond kicking is Pitman, who, along with captaining the Oklahoma Energy ECNL team, is a starting wide receiver and linebacker for Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. All signs point to the junior center back becoming a top-tier collegiate defender.
6. David Muyolo, Idaho (Soccer/Football) - Muyolo is a high-level athlete who excels in soccer as a creative attacker and on the football team as a cornerback. His senior season just saw him earn Idaho 6A All-State honors in soccer and All-Conference in football. That came after making the ODP National Team last spring.
7. Nathan Thiellen, Nebraska (Soccer/Football) - Elite speed, agility, and acceleration have made Thiellen a lethal goal scorer at the ECNL level for Gretna Elite. Those same qualities also translate to the football field, where he made the varsity team as a freshman and led the team in kick-return yards. It will be interesting to see if the Nebraska native, who was a middle school track star, picks up the spikes this spring.
8. Christian Borno, Washington, D.C. (Soccer/Track) - It has been some time since Borno last ran track, but just a few years ago, he qualified for the US Outdoor National Championship in the 100-meter and 4X100 relay events. The Gonzaga Prep star uses that incredible pace to wreak havoc against any backline in the ECNL and MLS Next, whether sprinting in behind or winning his 1-v-1 duels.
9. Lincoln Crockett, Washington (Soccer/Football) - The Washington sports scene is well aware of Crockett, an All-State senior forward on the soccer team and an All-Conference wide receiver for football. It seems the speedster is heading toward the gridiron in college, but judging by his 50-goal outburst as a junior, there are plenty of soccer programs that could use his instincts and explosiveness.
10. Wes Wolfley, Arizona (Soccer/Baseball) – Wolfley is excelling at both baseball and soccer, but it remains uncertain which sport he will pursue long-term. Currently, the Arizona native is an 8th-grader and U.S. Talent ID Camp invitee who stars in the MLS Next for Phoenix Rising as a center back with impressive physical attributes.
