U.S. youth international and LA Galaxy standout midfielder Jake Arteaga has committed to join Portland in 2018, his father confirmed to TopDrawerSoccer.com.

The No. 16 ranked recruit for the class of 2018, the Galaxy standout has also been in the mix for U.S. youth national teams dating back to the U14 age group in 2014. Arteaga has played in 13 games for the Galaxy U18s during the current Development Academy season, also making three appearances with the U16s.

He was named to the U16 Development Academy West Conference XI by U.S. Soccer last summer, and spent part of the 2017 USL preseason training with LA Galaxy II, the franchise's USL side. Arteaga made the 18 during their first game of the season.

The So Cal native is the second player to verbally commit to Portland's 2018 recruiting class, joining RJ Stretch.
