It’s been a bumpy ride for the U.S. Under 20 Men’s National Team at the Toulon Tournament over the past week.
After picking up a win over the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday – its first of the tournament – head coach Tab Ramos has learned a lot about his squad and where things stand ahead of the U20 World Cup that will kick off later this month in Turkey.
Keeping in mind that Ramos probably knows the core of his World Cup roster already, here are players who have helped and hurt their causes through the first three games in France:
Stock Up
MF Jordan Morris, Seattle Sounders Academy: The meteoric rise continues for the midfielder. An attacking winger with pace, the last test for Morris was getting to see how he performed at the international level and it’s been pretty much been all positives through the three games. In the first two against France and Colombia, Morris was a handful on both occasions, and while he may have slowed down a touch against Congo, that’s mostly due to the fact he was playing up front as a lone striker, hardly his natural position.
