U.S. U17s top T&T in qualifiers
The U.S. U17 Men’s National Team defeated Trinidad&Tobago 2-0 on Monday on the second day of play from Group A. Pending the result of the evening tilt between Honduras and Cuba, U.S. sits in first place in the group with six points from the first two games.
Joe Gallardo opened the scoring in the first half with his fourth goal of the competition. Gallardo scored on a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box. Haji Wright doubled the lead when Christian Pulisic slotted him through on a breakaway with 20 minutes late. Wright tucked the shot away for his first goal of the competition. Pulisic leads the team with three assists.
The U.S. returns to action on Thursday against Guatemala. The game can be viewed live on Fox Sports 2 at 6 pm (ET).

The result went the U.S.’s way on Monday, but the quality of play was not up to the standard this group has set in the past. The first half was plagued with erratic passing and lack of movement from the midfielders.
