The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team will hold its first training camp of the year from Feb. 2-9 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

U.S. Soccer Women’s Technical Director April Heinrichs has called up 24 players for the training camp, with one born in 1994, nine born in 1995, and 14 born in 1996, which is the age cut-off year for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Players born on or after Jan. 1, 1994, are eligible for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada, so the players that attempt to qualify for that tournament will be primarily from that birth year, but the top 1995s and perhaps 1996s may also be in the mix.

The U-18 roster includes five players who were members of the USA’s 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Team in Azerbaijan, including the team’s co-captain, Madeline Bauer.

The U.S. U-18 WNT training camp will be held concurrently with the U.S. U-20 WNT training camp, and the two squads will scrimmage against each other on Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. PT. The U-18s will also scrimmage UC Irvine on Friday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. PT.
