The U.S. U15 Boys National Team defeated Suriname 4-0 on Wednesday in the final game of group play from the 2019 Concacaf U15 Championship at the IMG Academy Campus in Florida. USA won Group B with a perfect 3-0 record after defeated Haiti and Guatemala earlier in the tournament. The host side did not concede a goal during group play and finished with a plus nine goal differential.

On Wednesday, LA Galaxy Academy forward Victor Valdez was in the spotlight with three of the four goals. Valdez took over the top spot for the Golden Boot race with four goals from the three games.

Valdez put USA up early with a tally in the third minute of the game. Federico Oliva set up the chance for Valdez who slotted it home for the opener.

It was the Oliva-Valdez connection 12 minutes later that doubled the advantage for USA. Oliva drew a foul in the 18-yard box, and Valdez converted the penalty kick for his second goal of the game.

Oliva put his name on the scoresheet with a stunning free kick goal in the 30th minute. Oliva’s perfect strike was probably the best goal from group play for USA.

Valdez capped the scoring in the second half with a terrific strike of his own that hit off the bottom of the crossbar and snuck in the goal.

USA had a few chances to add to the lead, but shots from Rafael Jauregui and Osvaldo Cisneros hit off the post and kept the score at 4-0.

Christopher Brady recorded the shutout in goal.

USA returns to action in the knock-out round where they will face the second place team from Group D (either Portugal or Costa Rica depending on the results from the rest of the games on Wednesday).

USA Starting XI vs Suriname: Christopher Brady; Devan Tanton, Angel Martinez, Armando Avila, Justin Reynolds; Aethan Yohannes, Kenan Hot (C), Federico Oliva; Rafael Jauregui, Victor Valdez, Christian Torres
