The first six weeks of 2014 have been pretty busy for the U.S. youth national teams. With tournaments and camps taking place all across the globe, it is difficult to keep track of all the comings and goings from the start of the year at the YNT level.

In an effort of convenience, here is a look at every age group that has been in action this year.

U14 Boys National Team

Head coach Tony Lepore called in 37 players for a camp in Florida, which was the second for the 2000 birth year. The camp included games against the U17 Men’s National Team, Chargers SC ‘98/’99, and Orlando City Youth Soccer ‘98/’99s. The U17 MNT won the matchup between the youth national teams 3-0 according to players on twitter. The U14 BNT defeated the local Florida club teams 3-0 in the other games. Marin FC’s Ricky Mendez was the difference against Chargers with a goal and an assist.

Jalen James (Dallas Texans) and Andrew Carleton (United Futbol Academy) were the standouts from the other scrimmage against OCYS. James scored twice while Carleton had a goal and two assists. Carleton has been on the national radar before with his success at the Super Y-League level. He also earned an invite to train with Manchester City in 2013.

“It was an experience kind of thing but I think Manchester City are quite interested in him and all we hear is real good reports from them,” Carleton’s coach Steve Gummer told supery.uslsoccer.com last February.

The U14 BNT returns to action next month with a camp at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
