LAKEWOOD, Colo.:  NSCAA nationally ranked #2 Regis University men's soccer added another win to their record Sunday against the unranked Cougars of Colorado Christian University.  The 4-1 victory brings the Rangers to 11-0-1 overall and 9-0 in the RMAC.

Sophomore Logan Miller had a big day for Regis, netting the Rangers first two goals within 12 minutes of play.  His first off a penalty kick in the seventh minute.

"We wanted to get on top of them early, get the job done and put it away," commented Miller.  "Now we need to rest, focus on the little things and get sharp for the upcoming weekend."

The midfielder's second goal of the match came with 11:44 on the clock.  Junior Justin Ortinau passed in to Miller who scored in the top left corner from 25 yards out.

"We need to prepare and work hard, focus on ourselves for to get ready for next weekend," stated Ortinau.  "We haven't been coming out that hard lately, so today we wanted to focus on coming out hard."

Along with the assist on the second goal, Ortinau netted a goal of his own early in the second minute of the second half.  Miller went in for an attack with one of the Cougar defenders and the ball popped into path of Ortinau who sent his first touch through to the back of the net.

Ranger senior Mark Kelly fought hard throughout the match for another goal, and earned it in the 69th minute.  He received the ball, beat a defender and placed the ball through the right corner of the goal to put the Rangers up 4-0.

"This week, we need to train hard and bring our all at each training session," commented Kelly about the upcoming week.  "We need to continue working hard so we can have another successful weekend next week.

In a last effort, the Cougars managed one past the Ranger defense, scoring with under two minutes to go in the match.

Freshman goalkeeper Christian Nicolosi was challenged with one shot on the day which he saved.  Senior goalie Scott Brown also had one save during his 18 minutes in goal for the Rangers.

"All the recipes were there for an upset today, but the guys came out extremely professionally and took care of what they need to," stated head coach Tony McCall.  "It was a very satisfactory result and now we can take a couple of days, regroup and get back to training on Tuesday."
