#21 Midwestern State draws with ENMU, 1-1
PORTALES, N.M. -- No. 21 Midwestern State played to its fourth draw of the season settling for a 1-1 decision against Eastern New Mexico Friday afternoon here in Lone Star Conference play.
The Mustangs, who moved to 8-1-4 on the season and to 0-1-1, continue the road swing Sunday against West Texas A&M in Canyon at 1 p.m. The Buffs fell 3-2 to Incarnate Word Friday night.
Midwestern struck first as freshman midfielder Andrew Power collected a rebound shot off of the boot of junior forward VcMor Eligwe in the 50th minute to give the Mustangs a 1-0 edge. It was Power's third goal of the season and first since notching a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Southern Nazarene on Oct. 5.
Eastern New Mexico struck back in the 78th minute as MSU goalkeeper Ray Clark was unable to snare a blast off of the foot of Michael Stewart. Eishu Kanemitsu collected the ball and deposited the equalizer into the net for his fourth tally of the season.
Eastern New Mexico maintained a 19-14 shot edge, but was only able to place five shots on goal.
The Greyhounds, who moved to 9-4-1 on the season and to 0-1-1 in LSC play, play host to Incarnate Word on Sunday
