Boston, MA - The men's soccer team headed into Massachusettes earlier this evening for a matchup against the Terriers of Boston University. The hosts poured on three goals in a 14 minute span during the first half which proved enough to secure the win as they held the Panthers scoreless. With the loss, Adelphi drops to 1-10 while BU moves to 3-5-3.

The scoring began in the 26th minute with a Derek McCaffrey goal on assists from Dominique Badji and Anthony Ciccone to put Adelphi in an early 1-0 hole. It continued in the 38th minute with a Mac McGuire score from Ciccone and then capped just 47 seconds later with an unassisted Michael Bustamante goal to make it a 3-0 affair.

Michael Guerra registered the first shot of the game for the Panthers, but was met with a save by BU keeper, Nick Thomson. Domeinco Parrelli, John Sabal, Adrian Sundquist and Steve Rivera combine to record five first half shots, meanwhile their counterparts tallied 19 and kept keeper Ahmad Salamah busy with seven on goal.

After the second BU goal, a foul called on Adelphi in the box gave BU a corner kick that was taken by Bustamante. For the second week in a row, Salamah made a diving save to stop the bleeding.

In the second, the Brown and Gold put half of their shots on goal, but were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net. Yannick Laroche and Rivera's shots were stopped while both of Greg Mallia's attempts went wide. BU continued to press, totaling nine second half shots, three of which were on target.

The Panthers were out-shot 24-9 and were at a 7-3 disadvantage in corner kicks. Salamah made seven saves in the loss while his counterpart made four.

The Panthers are back in action on Tuesday, October 9 when they host Army on Motamed Field at 7pm.
