Adkisson Garners RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for Second Straight Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: Regis men's soccer's very own freshman goalkeeperConnor Adkisson was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for second consecutive week today after helping the Rangers go 2-0 over the weekend.
On the weekend, the keeper put in seven saves and a 1.50 goals against average in the two matches. He picked up a .700 save percentage and allowed only three goals.
First, in RUs 4-2 win over cross-town rivals Metro State, Adkisson put in four saves and helped Regis to their second back-to-back RMAC regular season Championship by doing so. Then in the 2-1 win over Mesa, the freshman notched three saves for the Rangers.
After the weekend, Adkisson ranks 1st in the RMAC with a .813 save percentage, 3rdwith a 0.94 goals against average and 5th with 3.90 saves per game. He also ranks nationally in those same categories.
After taking down Metro and picking up the RMAC regular season championship, the Rangers will host the RMAC Tournament final four, beginning Friday, Nov. 8.
RUs first game of the tournament will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday against the winner of Wednesday's match between #4 Metro and #5 Fort Lewis.
