Bak Strikes Again, Bradley Beats DePaul, 1-0

September 4, 2015
PEORIA, Ill. - For the second consecutive game, freshman Frank Bak scored the game's lone goal, leading Bradley (2-1-0) to a 1-0 victory against DePaul (0-3-0) on a steamy Friday night at Shea Stadium.

Bak, who scored his first career goal in Sunday's 1-0 win against Houston Baptist, repeated the feat Friday in the 12th minute to finish off a Bradley throw-in.  Jacob Taylor's throw from in front of the DePaul bench was initially flicked into the goal mouth area by Grant Bell.  Freshman Will Kidd kept the ball moving across the area with another header, before Bak collected the loose ball beyond the far post and calmly collected himself before burying his shot past Blue Demons keeper Quentin Low at 11:13.

Defense ruled the night the rest of the way, however, as the teams combined for just 23 total shots and only six on goal.  Bradley junior keeper Logan Ketterer needed only two saves to record his second straight shutout and sixth career clean sheet.  Ketterer did come up big late in the game with a diving stop of an Erik Rodriguez shot through traffic in the 88th minute.

Bradley improved to 6-1-2 all-time against DePaul with its third consecutive shutout victory in the series, all at Shea Stadium, while Jim DeRose improved to 3-0-0 against the Blue Demons and 59-24-6 against all in-state rivals in his 20th season as Braves head coach.

Bradley will wrap up its early-season, 3-game home stand Sunday when the Braves welcome Milwaukee (1-1-1) for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Shea Stadium.
