PEORIA, IL - Freshman Frank Bak netted his first career goal in the 29th minute and keeper Logan Ketterer made six saves, leading Bradley (1-1-0) to a 1-0 win against Houston Baptist (1-1-0) in the home opener for the Braves Sunday night at Shea Stadium.

Bak's first career goal was set up by pressure applied by senior forward Grant Bell, whose shot from the right flank was blocked.  The ball eventually settled in the center of the penalty area, where Bak was able to take control, then beat Huskies keeper Philip Poser with a low, left-footed shot inside the right post for Bradley's first tally of the young season at 28:59.

Ketterer came through with a pair of brilliant saves midway through the second half to secure his fifth career shutout.  He deflected Dominick Faletto's 25-yard laser over the cross bar in the 56th minute, then made another diving save to the left post to keep an Erick Aragon free kick out of the net in the 63rd minute.

Bradley improved to 2-0 all-time in the series against Houston Baptist, winning both games (2010) by 1-0 scores.  The Braves also improved to 18-8-3 (.672) in 29 all-time home-opening games, including 10-2-1 (.808) at Shea Stadium, where they have won five straight openers.

Bradley will continue its 3-game home stand Friday when the Braves host in-state rival DePaul for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Shea Stadium.  The home stand will conclude Sunday with a 1 p.m. contest against Milwaukee.  Both games will be the first meetings against the two opponents since first-round NCAA Tournament matchups:  DePaul in 2007 (2-0 win) and Milwaukee in 2005 (2-0 loss), both at Shea Stadium.
