Senior tri-captain Jacob Roth drew the lone assist on the winning goal. After Brennan was fouled with just seven seconds left in the period, the clock was stopped as a yellow card was assessed to a CSU player. Roth, a native of Cleveland, played a long free kick into the penalty area. Brennan ran onto the ball and headed it past Viking goalkeeper Sebastian Kalk, sparking a wild celebration near the BGSU bench.
